Ash Vale is a village in the parish of Ash in Surrey.Ash Vale is located in the borough of Guildford, yet is geographically positioned closer to the Hampshire towns of Aldershot and Farnborough, immediately across the Blackwater River.

The village owes its existence to transport links, its geography demarked largely between its railway station and Ash Wharf on the Basingstoke Canal.The Ash Vale railway station opened in May 1870 under the name of "North Camp and Ash Vale", changing to its present name on 30 March 1924.
