Few little facts about Clerkenwell

Clerkenwell took its name form Clerk's Well in Farringdon Lane. It is situated in the London Borough of Islington. Clerkenwell was once known as Lord's "Little Italy" because of the large umber of Italians living there between 1850s and 1960s. The industrial revolution changed the area greatly. It became a centre for breweries, distilleries and printing industry. It is also popular for the making of Clocks and Watches.
